Tai Chi For Fibromyalgia, Better Than Aerobic Exercise?

ATTENTION: Folks with Fibromyalgia, Friends, Family, Fibro Allies, Folks with any other Chronic Condition, and Anyone Else I have Failed to Mention.  So Basically Attention Everyone!

Who needs more movement in their life? I know I do and I would like to invite you all to join me for a challenge this January and beyond.  Let’s not call it a New Years Resolution, I am sure we all know the poor success rate of those.  Let’s call it a 2019 Transformation shall we.

A new study has come out stating that 1 hour per week of Tai Chi is as good or better than aerobic exercise for Fibromyalgia.  This is exciting news!  I have for a long time wanted to learn Tai Chi and thought it would be easier on my body than other forms of exercise.

I commit to 30 minutes of Tai Chi per week in the month of January, and I would like you to join me.  If not in the form of Tai Chi, any other form of movement will do!  If 30 minutes is not the right size step for you to start with, choose a smaller step.  If you aren’t able to do any movement right now do to doctor recommendations or other reasons, I invite you to utilize visualization.  I can provide more information and tips for this later.  Anything goes, lets just do it together once a week!

You have all heard this disclaimer before: Please consult your healthcare professional before starting any exercise program.  It’s true please do.

Stay tuned in the next couple weeks for tips on successful behavior change as well as some free resources for Tai Chi instruction.
